Dialed is a planning and focus app. It works fully on your iPhone, with no account. If you choose to sign in (with Apple, or with your email address and a one-time code we email you or a password you choose), Dialed can also back up your plans to our server so you can restore them on another device.
What we collect
Your plans, goals, notes and Screen Time stay on your iPhone unless you sign in. We cannot see anything you put into Dialed. There is no advertising or tracking in Dialed at any time.
Apple Health (optional). Apple Health (workouts, steps, sleep, mindful minutes) is read on this iPhone only and never uploaded or written back. You can disconnect it in Settings › Sources.
Anonymous usage statistics (on by default, you can turn them off). Dialed uses PostHog (posthog.com) to count basic things, such as that the app was opened, a Lock-in started or finished (with how many minutes), a task or goal was saved, which onboarding step you reached, whether a purchase went through (plan and tier only), and whether you signed in or allowed notifications. These events carry a random id made on this iPhone, not your name, email or account, and never include what you wrote, your goals, your tasks or which apps you use. No session recording, no advertising id. Turn it off any time in Settings › Data and privacy › Share anonymous usage.
If you sign in (optional): Dialed creates an account with our backend provider, Supabase (supabase.com), and backs up your plans there. We receive:
- Account details: with Sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple gives Dialed for you and the email address on your Apple account (which may be Apple's private relay address if you chose to hide it); your name stays in this iPhone's Keychain. With email sign-in, the email address you enter and your first name (the name stays on this iPhone). You can sign in with a one-time 6-digit code we email you, which Supabase checks and then discards, or with a password you choose. Passwords are stored by Supabase in hashed form; we cannot read them.
- Your plans: the same things listed under "What stays on your device" below, limited to your tasks, habits and other plans (titles, notes, times, streaks), goals and their milestones, subjects, and focus sessions.
The backup runs only while you are signed in: when Dialed opens, when you sign in, when you tap Back up now in Settings, and when you pull down to refresh on Today. Signed out, nothing is sent.
This data is used only to back up and restore your plans. It is not used for advertising, analytics or tracking, and it is not sold or shared with anyone else. Supabase stores it on our behalf and may process it only to run the service. Every row is protected so that only your own account can read or change it. Data travels over an encrypted connection.
If you use friends and challenges (optional, needs an account): you choose a username and, if you like, a first name. Friends find you only by typing your exact username; there is no search or list of users. A friend you accept can see your streak, whether you did something today and your focus minutes this week. You can turn this off in Friends › Privacy. They never see your goals, tasks, notes or Screen Time. A challenge shows its title (up to 40 characters) and each member's daily results to the people invited to it. There is no messaging. You can report or block anyone, which removes you from each other's friends and challenges. Deleting your account deletes all of this.
Buddy, hype and lock in together (optional, friends only): you can pick one friend as your accountability buddy. Friends who can see your progress then also see, for each of the last 60 days, only whether you showed up (a ✓ or "missed", or a second kind of ✓ if you finished a Lock-in together with a friend), never what you did, who with or which apps. You can send friends one of four fixed reactions (no typing, at most five to the same friend an hour); reactions older than a week are deleted. If you turn on "Show when I'm locked in" for a friend, they see that you're in a Lock-in and when it ends, so they can join; never what you're working on. It's off for everyone until you turn it on per friend, and one switch hides it from all. Removing or blocking a friend ends all of this between you. With Dialed Max, friends see your name in gold and, if you've earned one, a bronze, gold or legendary frame round your avatar. The frame is worked out on your phone from your Lock-in minutes over the last four weeks; only its name is sent, never the minutes.
Invite friends (optional, needs an account): your account gets a short invite code. When a friend types it in, we store that they joined with your code and whether they have finished their first 5-minute Lock-in (the app sends only "yes, a Lock-in was finished", never what it was for or how long). Once it counts, you become friends and you become their accountability buddy, which they agree to before using the code. You see the names of the people who used your code and whether it has counted. Rewards are orb skins and free weeks of Dialed Pro or Max that we grant ourselves: no money, no card and no purchase. Deleting your account deletes your code, your invites and your rewards.
Crews and the Crew Bank (Dialed Pro, optional, needs an account): a crew is a private group you join with a 6-character code, for up to 12 people. Members see the crew's name, a head count, the usernames of the people in it, and the crew's weekly bank (a total). If you choose to add your minutes, Dialed sends one number a week: the minutes you spent that week on the apps in your own block list, after your free pass (your heaviest day doesn't count). The counting happens on your iPhone with Apple's Screen Time; the number never says which app, which day or when. It is kept for the crew's streak and then deleted with your account. It is off until you say Allow on the consent step, and Settings in the crew lets you stop at any time, which removes every number you sent. Your own number is shown to the crew only if every member switches on "Show everyone's minutes". There is no messaging; the crew name is the only text you type, and it can be reported. You can leave any crew, the owner can remove a member, and you can report or block anyone in it. Deleting your account deletes all of this.
Blocked-app alerts and push (optional, needs an account and a buddy): you can let Dialed tell your accountability buddy when you try to open a blocked app. The message is fixed ("Sam tried to open a blocked app"), goes only to your buddy, never says which app, and is capped at three a day followed by one summary. If you turn on "Ask my buddy to unlock" (Dialed Max), your buddy gets a request they can approve for 5 minutes, only once you have finished something that day. You can add an optional reason to a request (a preset like "Homework needs it", or up to 80 characters you type, links removed); it is stored with that request, only your buddy sees it, they can report it, and it is deleted with your account. "Only my buddy can let me in" is a setting on your phone: it changes the Shield's button and sends nothing extra. To send these, Dialed stores a push token for your iPhone and a small random key (its hash only) that lets the Shield send those fixed alerts for you; a crew can also send a push when its bank is empty. Nothing is stored or sent until you turn alerts on, one switch removes the token and the key, and deleting your account deletes them too. "Call a friend" stays on your phone: the person you pick is a contact you choose with Apple's picker and nothing about them is uploaded.
Crew dares (Dialed Pro, optional, needs an account): if a crew's owner turns Dares on and you separately say Allow, you can film a clip of up to 15 seconds (camera and microphone, only after you tap Continue and allow them) and send it to that crew. Only crewmates who also said Allow can watch it, through a link that works for five minutes, inside Dialed; there is no feed, no public sharing and no download button. One approval opens 5 minutes on your blocked apps. The clip is deleted as soon as someone approves or says not quite, and at the latest 24 hours after you send it. If a crewmate reports a clip, it is hidden from the crew and kept up to 14 days so it can be reviewed, then deleted. We keep a small record (who sent it, to which crew, when, and the outcome) for up to three days to enforce the limit of three dares a day. Nothing is recorded on your phone after sending. You can stop taking part at any time, which deletes any clip of yours still waiting, and deleting your account removes everything. Crew members can report a clip and block a person.
Crew rules and bank battles (Dialed Max / Pro): a crew's owner can change the bank size and how much one person can take out of it; the crew sees the rules. A crew's owner can challenge another crew, by its code, to a one-week bank battle. During a battle each crew sees only the other crew's name, head count and bank total, never who is in it or anyone's minutes. A crew name can be reported from the battle. "Nudge me when the bank is empty" is a setting on your phone only; it blocks the apps in your own block list until Monday and sends nothing. The crew card is an image made on your phone that you choose whether to share.
Your player card on your crews' board (Dialed Max, optional, needs an account): the card is worked out on your phone from your own activity. If you say Allow on "Brag to your crews", Dialed sends the card's numbers (a rating from 0 to 99, the level and six stats from 0 to 99) so the members of your crews can see them on the crew's card board. When your card goes up, a short brag is posted to your crews ("your card hit 74"); drops are never posted. Nothing about what you did is sent: no task names, goals or apps. Brags are deleted after 14 days. Turning it off removes your card and every brag from the server, and deleting your account removes them too.
Other things in Dialed (settings, your profile answers, reflection notes, calendar copies, reminders you import, Apple Intelligence suggestions and voice input) are not uploaded, signed in or not.
What stays on your device
- Your plans: tasks (tasks, assignments, exams, classes, meetings, habits, alarms, fixed events), goals and their milestones, subjects, streaks and focus sessions. These are stored in an on-device database that only Dialed and its own widgets can read.
- Settings and your week: work hours, escalation choices, Pomodoro lengths, and the optional profile you fill in (school days and hours, wake and sleep times, energy peak, daily limit, rest preference).
- Reflection: the optional one-line note on your daily summary and your weekly review choices. They stay on your iPhone like everything else.
Deleting the app deletes this data from your iPhone, but not a cloud backup (see below). You can also erase it in Settings › Delete all data, or export it in Settings › Export all data (a JSON file you can save or share yourself). Settings › Import and export can also export your plan as a calendar file (.ics) that you open in another calendar app yourself.
Your account and deleting your data
- Sign out: Settings › Account › Sign out. Your plans stay on your iPhone and the backup stays in your account.
- Delete your account: Settings › Account › Delete account (confirmed in two steps). This permanently deletes your account and every plan stored on our server. If you signed in with Apple, Dialed first asks Apple to confirm it is you and then revokes Dialed's Sign in with Apple authorization. Plans already on your iPhone are not touched. Deleting the account cannot be undone.
- If you delete something on one signed-in device, it is also removed from your backup and from your other signed-in devices.
Dialed Pro (subscriptions)
Dialed Pro is an optional subscription bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment; Dialed never sees your card, your Apple ID or your billing details. The app asks the App Store, on your iPhone, only whether Pro is active (bought by you or shared through Family Sharing) and remembers that answer on the iPhone so Pro works offline. Purchases are not sent to our server or to PostHog. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or in Dialed › Settings › Dialed Pro.
Free counts how many times you used Ask Dia today, on your iPhone only, for the free daily allowance.
Dialed Max extras stay on your iPhone: your player card is worked out on the phone from your own activity and only leaves it if you share the image; your own Shield lines (up to three for each kind of block) are stored with Dialed's Screen Time settings on the phone and only you see it; soundscapes are made on the phone; alternate icons are part of the app. If Max ends, your Shield lines is removed. A flow you share as a link carries only the rule (trigger, filters, actions and name), never your goals or anything about you.
Suggestions (Apple Intelligence)
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Dialed can ask Apple's on-device model for suggestions (next steps, milestones, a week summary, tasks found in text you paste). This runs entirely on your iPhone; nothing is sent to us or anyone else. Notes you give the coach stay on the device. Suggestions only change anything when you accept them.
Permissions
- Calendar (optional, read-only): if you connect your calendar, Dialed reads the calendars you choose and saves a copy of their events on your iPhone as fixed blocks, so it can show them and plan around them. It never changes your calendars and never uploads anything. Turning calendar import off removes those copies.
- Reminders (optional, read-only): only when you tap Import in Settings › Import and export, Dialed reads the reminder lists you pick, once, and saves them as tasks on your iPhone. It never changes your reminders.
- Files you import: calendar files (.ics) and CSV exports from other apps are opened with the iOS file picker, read on your iPhone and previewed before anything is saved. Dialed does not keep the file and does not upload it. Anything you import can be undone from Settings › Import and export.
- Screen Time (optional): if you turn on app blocking, Apple's Screen Time system lets you pick apps to block. The choice stays on your iPhone, in Apple's protected storage and Dialed's own shared storage. Dialed never sees which apps you picked, never uploads Screen Time or usage data (the only exception is the single weekly minutes number you can choose to send to a crew, described above), and never uses it for advertising. Turning blocking off or choosing Don't Allow leaves the rest of Dialed working.
- Apple Health (optional, read-only): if you connect Health, Dialed reads your workouts, daily steps, sleep and mindful minutes on your iPhone so a habit like Run can check itself off and show where it came from. Dialed never writes to Health, never uploads Health data, never uses it for advertising and never stores it in iCloud. Ask Dia does not send it to any remote model. Disconnecting removes the copy Dialed kept.
- Notifications and alarms: scheduled locally on your device to remind you about your tasks.
- Motion (foreground only): used only while Dialed is open, to notice when your phone is face down during focus, to tilt the liquid in the Lock-in timer as you tilt the phone, and to count shakes for the snooze mission. Nothing is recorded or stored.
- Location (optional, Pro flows only): only if you build a flow that starts when you arrive at or leave a place. You save a place by standing in it; its name, coordinates and size stay on your iPhone, are never synced, never put in a shared flow link and never uploaded. iPhone tells Dialed only that you crossed the edge of a saved place (this works while Dialed is closed only if you choose "Always"). Dialed does not record your location or keep a history of where you have been. Removing a place, or turning location off in Settings, stops it.
- Speech and microphone (optional): only when you tap the microphone button to add something by voice. Your speech is recognised on your iPhone and turned into text. Nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded.
Sharing
Share cards and "free slots" text are created on your device. They leave it only if you choose to share them, through the iOS share sheet (this is separate from the account backup). Share cards show a task name only if you keep it visible.
Children and teens
Dialed is designed for students aged 13 and up. Without an account it collects no personal information. Signing in is optional. Friends only see what a teen chooses to share, can only be added by exact username, and cannot message each other.
Website and waitlist
This policy also covers our website, dialedin.online.
- No cookies and no tracking scripts. The site counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not follow you across sites.
- Claim your @ (optional). If you join the waitlist, we keep the @ you reserved, a random code for your invite link, which code invited you (if any), which post sent you to the site (if the link said so), and, only if you type it, one way to tell you when Dialed is out: an email address or an Instagram handle. An email address gets one message asking you to confirm it; we use it only after you tap Confirm, and forget it after 7 days if you don't. We never message an Instagram handle automatically. We use either only for launch news and your invite to the beta, never for ads, and we never sell or share it. Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe.
- Lost claim key. If you ask us for a new key to claim your @, we send it only to the email address (if you confirmed it) or Instagram handle you gave when you joined. That's the only other message we ever send to an Instagram handle, and only because you asked.
- You must be 13 or older to join. If you aren't, we store nothing.
- Bot check. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check you're a person. Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to do that. To stop spam, we keep a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address for 24 hours, then delete it.
- How long we keep it. Nobody else can take your reserved @ in the app until 30 days after Dialed launches. All waitlist data is deleted 90 days after launch.
- Remove yourself any time at dialedin.online/waitlist/remove from the browser you joined on, or with the link in any email we sent, or email [email protected] with the @ you reserved. Email requests are done within 7 days.
- The site and the waitlist run on Cloudflare (hosting, the bot check and page counts) and Supabase (the list itself), and launch emails are sent through Resend.
